Court remands Burger for offensive conduct

Mankranso (Ash), June 11, GNA- The Mankranso District Magistrate Court, has remanded in custody, a 26 year-old man for offensive conduct. Charles Kwadwo Asare, alias “Burger”, pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on Tuesday, June 21. Police Inspector I. K. Dampson, told the court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu Afriyie that on April 6, this year, the accused insulted the Assembly Member for Mpasaso Number Two, Mr Martin Addae Asubonteng in public without provocation.

The accused used abusive words such as “stupid”, “foolish” and “senseless” on the assembly member, adding that, he was unfit to represent the community at the District Assembly.

Mr Asubonteng did not react to the unwarranted insults and lodged a complaint with the police who effected the arrest of Asare.
