Court remands 35-year old man for defiling girl, 16

Goaso (B/A), Nov. 3, GNA- A Goaso magistrate court, presided by Mr. Albert Zoogah has remanded a 35-year-old mason, Abu Mohammed in prison custody for allegedly defiling a-16-year-old girl in the bush. The accused would re-appear before the court on November 15 this year.

Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Ben Brew said the victim lives with her parents at Konkontreso near Acherensua in Asutifi district of the Brong-Ahafo Region where the accused also lived. He said on the 14 of October this year at about 8:30 am, the accused secretly followed the victim who was going to fetch water at a nearby stream and pushed her into a bush and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

Chief Inspector Brew said after the act the accused warned the victim not to narrate her ordeal to anyone.

He said the victim who started experiencing pains in her private part disclosed her ordeal to her parents who report to the police, leading to his arrest.

According to Inspector Brew, a medical report showed that the victim had been defiled.
