Court orders arrest of three persons at Abuakwa

Nkawie (Ash), Aug 03, GNA – The Nkawie circuit court on Wednesday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of three residents of Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District for failing to appear before it for living in unhygienic premises.

They are Mary Konadu, Nana Dwamena and Kwadwo Frimpong. Mr Austin Dubick, the Environmental Health Prosecutor, told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that on March 22 environmental health officers discovered on the premises of the accused persons that they had allowed their bathhouse to be covered with moss as well as a drainage system choked with human excreta.

The court took a very serious view of their absence since they were duly served with writ of summons and consequently issued the warrant for their arrest.
