Nkawkaw (E/R), Oct. 28, GNA – Five candidates have been arrested by the police for impersonation at the on-going November/December West African Examination Council (WAEC) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) for private candidates at the Nkawkaw Secondary School examination centre.
Two of them, who pleaded guilty to the charge of impersonation, were sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment each by the Nkawkaw Magistrate court on Friday while the other three, who pleaded not guilty have been remanded in police custody to re-appear on November 3, 2006. The convicted candidates were Frank Asamoah, a former student of St Peters Secondary School at Nkwatia and Najeem Benson, a former student of Mpraeso Secondary school.
Those on remand in police custody were Kelvin Gyan, a former student of Ghana Secondary School, Koforidua, John Frempong a former student of Asante Akim Agogo State Secondary School and Asadu James Agunobi, a former student of Akumadan Secondary School.
