Court jails man for removing NPP posters

New Edubiase (Ash), Dec 1, GNA – The New Edubiase Magistrate’s Court in the Adansi South District has sentenced a 24-year-old man from Atwereboana-Kawotirihwe to a fine of three million cedis for destroying a New Patriotic Party (NPP) poster.

Isaac Kwaku Ababio, who pleaded guilty, will go to prison for six months in default.

Chief Inspector Stanley Amewoyi told the Court that on November 21, Ababio was spotted removing and destroying an NPP poster. He said Ababio’s conduct was reported to the Police and he was arrested.

The Magistrate cautioned people in the District to desist from destroying posters of political parties and warned that he would not allow anyone to destroy the peace currently being enjoyed in the country.
