Court jails electrician for stealing

The Kasoa District Magistrate Court, has sentenced a 28-year-old electrician to 12 months imprisonment for unlawful entering, stealing a power generator and a wheelbarrow.

The items were stolen at Adam Nana, a community in Awutu-Senya East Municipality by Kobina Duodu.

The convict pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced accordingly.

Prosecuting, Detective Police Chief Inspector Abdulai Mohammed told the court presided over by Mr Frank Oppong that the complainant is a taxi driver who plies his services within Awutu-Senya East Municipality while the convict is an electrician residing at Kasoa.

Chief Inspector Mohammed said on June 19, at about 0400 hours Kobina Duodu hired the services of the taxi driver to convey his goods from Adam Nana to Kasoa Old Market.

The convict asked the driver to stop and entered a nearby bush and brought one power generator and a wheelbarrow.

According to the prosecutor the driver became suspicious and drove Kobina Duodu together with his goods to the police station.

During interrogation by the Police the convict admitted stealing the items.
