Hohoe, Oct.20, GNA – The Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced a 25-year-old man to seven years imprisonment, in hard labour for defiling an 11 years old girl leading to her death.
Labiri Aggor pleaded guilty to defiling the deceased Joyce Ayiti, which resulted into health complications leading to her death at the Volta Regional Hospital on February 20, 2004.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Samuel Gbedemah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel K. Sarpong-Appiah that the accused sexually abused the girl a number of times and warned her not to disclosed it to anybody. The girl became ill and was on admission at the Hohoe District Hospital where she told the medical authorities about her sexual ordeal leading to the arrest of the accused.
