Court issues bench warrant for farmer’s arrest

Offinso (Ash), Nov 18, GNA – A Circuit Court at Offinso on Thursday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of kwame Antwi, a 27-year-old farmer from Nkubease near Afrancho, for allegedly defacing posters of a parliamentary candidate.

The order followed the failure of the suspect to appear before the Court to answer a charge of “Defacement of Notices”. Chief Inspector W.K. Salia told the Court presided over by Mr A.A. Abanga that Antwi for no reason was not in court.

Antwi allegedly defacing two posters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Offinso North on the 12th November this year, at Nkubease. He was arrested by the Akomadan police and later granted police inquiry bail in the sum of five million cedis.
