Court issues bench warrant for arrest of three farmers

Nkawie-Ashanti, April 07, GNA – Nkawie Circuit court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of three farmers from Ahwiaa near Akropong in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district for failing to appear before it.

They are Kwadwo Fordjour, Yaw Aning and Esther Serwaah. Mr Austin Dubick, Senior Environmental Health Officer of Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly, told the court that on September 5, last year, stray animals belonging to the accused persons destroyed food crops valued at 2.5 million cedis belonging to the complainant, Nana Kwabena Sarfoh, Odikro of the town.

Mr Dubick said the accused persons pleaded guilty before the court and were granted bail to re-appear on Thursday April 6, but they failed.
