Court grants motor rider bail for riding without due care

A Tarkwa Circuit Court has granted a bail in the sum of GH?10,000 with one surety to one David Kodzokpo for riding a motor bike without due care.

He pleaded guilty and will re-appear on June 6.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that, at about 2140 hours on May 4, the accused was riding an unregistered motor bike from Tamso towards Tarkwa main station.

He said, on reaching a section of the road at the University of Mines and Technology, he knocked down two pedestrians, Kwasi Osei, 19 and Kofi Larbi, 26.

Inspector Paddy said both victims sustained injuries and were rushed to the Tarkwa government hospital for treatment.

The Prosecutor said Larbi however died shortly on arrival while Kwesi Osei was treated and discharged.**
