Court grants farmer four million cedis bail

Nkawie (Ash), Oct. 23, GNA- The Atwima District court at Nkawie on Wednesday granted a 38-year-old farmer, Adwoa Grushie, four million cedis bail when she appeared before it for causing harm.

She pleaded guilty and will re-appear on November 4 for sentence. Detective Police Inspector P.K. Nyanueke told the court that one Gilbert Cooper had sexual relationship with the daughter of the accused at Mfensi near Abuakwa in Ashanti.

He said the girl became pregnant and asked Cooper to abort it but he refused and that ended their relationship.

Inspector Nyanueke said on August 1, this year, Cooper returned from work and found that his door had been forced open and his belongings including his wife’s cooking utensils had been stolen. He said Cooper suspected his former girlfriend and confronted her but she did not take kindly to it and hit Cooper’s forehead with a stone and injured him.

Inspector Nyanueke said a report was made to the police and after investigations, charged her.
