Court fins widow for buying stolen item

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), May 8, GNA – A circuit court in Dormaa Ahenkro has fined a widow GHc30.00 for dishonestly buying a stolen item from a suspect standing trial at the same court. Victoria Oppong Serwaa will serve three months in jail if she fails to pay the fine. Police Inspector Charles Agovi told the court, presided over by Mr Justice V.C. Senu, three suspects broke into the room of one Rosina Kwamaa at Wamfie and made away with several personal effects, including a Philips video player valued at GHc700.00 which one of them sold to her at GHc52.00. He said upon their arrest the suspects led the police to recover the player from the widow at Wamfie. 8 May 09
