Court fines three Nkawie food sellers

Nkawie (Ash), April 21, GNA- A circuit court at Nkawie in Ashanti, on Friday imposed a fine of GH¢50 each on three food sellers for exposing food they were selling to files and dust. Adwoa Atta, Amma Fremah and Awuraa Amma pleaded guilty. Environmental Health Officer, Mr. P.V. Beru, told the court presided over by Mr Jerome Noble Nkrumah, that on April 11, 2008, environmental health officers, went on their normal routine checks at the Nkawie Lorry Station.

Mr Beru said the officers arrested the three women for selling dough-nuts that were exposed saying food sellers in the town were some time ago cautioned against the unhygienic practice.
