Court fines passenger for assault

Tema, Aug. 23, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’, has imposed a fine of 30 million cedis, on a passenger of a taxicab for assault and intentionally causing damage.

Yaw Konadu pleaded not guilty and will reappear on September 2, 2004. Police Inspector Adolphus Otchere, told the Court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that at 1840 hours, on August 4, 2004, the accused who was on board a taxicab, allegedly assaulted the driver of a cargo truck for grazing the car.

He inflicted wounds on the complainant and also caused damage to the truck.
