Court fines man for stealing poultry

A Tarkwa circuit court has fined a 27-year-old Ibrahim Tanko GH? 120,00 for stealing seven rafters of Turkey valued at GH¢ 2,800.00.

In default, he would serve 14 days imprisonment in hard labour

The convict pleaded guilty to the charge.

Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Clement Amoah told the court that the complainant is Kingsley Yamoah and resides at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni/Valley District.

He said on July 21, at about 1230 hours, the convict stole the seven birds when he was assisting the complainant’s father in his poultry farm at Papa Bali, a village near Bogoso.

However, Ibrahim was arrested when he was conveying them home and was handed over to the Bogoso Police Station.
