Court fines farm labourer for stealing ram

Nkawie, (Ash), Nov. 27, GNA- The Nkawie circuit court, presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah has fined a 23-year-old farm labourer two million cedis for stealing a ram valued at 300,000 at Kwame-Dwaa Sreso, near Nyinahin. Kwabena Boateng, alias Dorwon, pleaded guilty to the charge and would serve 10 months imprisonment if he failed to pay the fine.

Police Inspector Francis Kpoafah, told the court that on November 16, this year, at about 0130 hrs, the complainant, who rears sheep heard an unusual noise in his pen and woke up to find out what was happening. The prosecutor said the complainant spotted the accused carrying one of the sheep and heading towards a nearby bush.

He raised an alarm and the accused was arrested and handed over to the Nyinahin police and after investigation, he was brought before the court.
