Court fines driver for possessing fake driving license

Kumasi, June 25, GNA – A Kumasi circuit court has find a taxi driver three million cedis for possessing a fake-driving license. Agyemang Duah, who pleaded guilty to the charge, will serve a nine-month prison term in default.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Seth Nana Amofa told the court presided over by Mr Essel Mensah that, at about 1000 hours on June 4, this year, the police enforcement team stopped Duah, who was driving a taxi at Abuakwa.

He said when his license was inspected, it was discovered that he was driving without a valid driving license. Inspector Amofa said the fake license was therefore seized and report was made to the Central Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), where he showed up and was charged with the offence. 25
