Court fines driver for contravening road traffic regulations

Twifo Praso (C/R), Feb. 10, GNA – Kweku Sam, a 29-year-old commercial driver from Cape Coast who picked passengers from an authorised place at Praso was on Wednesday fined 500,000 cedis.

Sam, who pleaded guilty to contravening road traffic regulations, will go to prison for two months if he fails to pay the fine.

Prosecution police inspector William Yeboah told the court, presided over by Mr Joseph Blay, that on February 3, the accused was arrested for picking passengers at unauthorised place at Praso.

In a related development, the court ordered a bench warrant for the arrest of John Fosu, also a driver from Cape Coast who failed to attend court on a similar offence.
