Court fines driver for careless driving

Sekondi, Jan. 16, GNA – A Sekondi District Magistrate court on Thursday imposed a fine of 240 Ghana Cedis on Elvis Awortwi, a taxi driver, for careless driving and negligently causing harm. Awortwi pleaded guilty and would serve six months imprisonment in hard labour in default of the fine. Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police Richard Boatey said on April 27 last year, the accused drove his taxi into a saloon car driven by Mr Paul Amoako who sustained multiple fractures.
