Court convicts weeping thief

Awutu (C/R), Oct. 29, GNA – The Awutu Magistrate’s Court, has jailed weeping Kelvin Jackson, 15 months in hard labour on two counts of unlawful entry and stealing. He pleaded guilty for stealing property worth GH¢3,000 belonging to Dan Obeng, a civil engineer. Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Emmanuel Gavi, told the court, presided over by Mr Osei Darko that Kelvin unlawfully entered the room of Mr Obeng and stole electronic appliances including sound systems, a video deck, tape recorder and electric iron. He said the complainant reported the theft to the police, leading to the arrest of the convict and the discovery of some of the items. Mr Darko ordered that the retrieved items be released to the owner. 29 Oct. 10
