Court convicts driver for defilement

Juaso (Ash), June 30, GNA – The Juaso circuit court on Tuesday sentenced a driver to nine years imprisonment in hard labour for abducting and defiling a 15-year-old girl. Yaw Adu pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted that he lured the girl into his room, kept her there for days and had sex with her several times.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Godfred Anim told the court that on June 10, Mr John Ahiabu left his daughter at home at Bompata for his farm. When he returned he could not find his daughter and that all efforts to trace her proved futile.

A week later, whilst on his way to visit his father, Mr Ahiabu spotted his daughter in Adu’s room through a window and made a report to the police who arrested the accused.
