Court convicts drive for using car without fire extinguisher

Koforidua, Oct 12, GNA – Francis Twum, a driver, was on Wednesday convicted to a fine of GH 600.00 by a Koforidua Circuit Court for use of a motor vehicle without fire extinguisher and advance warning triangle.

Twum would in default serve a jail term of two years in hard labour.

Police Chief Inspector Michelle Mantey told the court presided over by Mrs Wilhelmina Hammond that on October 07 personnel from the Eastern Regional Command of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit went on a motor check at Apedwa on the Accra-Kumasi highway.

When they stopped Twum’s vehicle they found it had no fire extinguisher and advance warning triangle.
