Court bonds unemployed for threatening to kill his mother

Mankranso (Ash), June 17, GNA- The Mankranso Magistrate Court has bonded an 18 year-old man to be of good behaviour for two years, for threatening to kill his mother.

Kwadwo Kwarteng, unemployed pleaded guilty for threatening to kill and would serve a two- year term if he breaks the bond.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector of Police, Joseph Gabienu told the Court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that Kwarteng accused his mother, Madam Esther Afriyie, for denying him formal education and rendering him jobless.

On June 3, this year, Kwarteng asked for 20,000 cedis from his mother to settle a debt, but the request was turned down. Chief Inspector Gabienu said the accused did not take kindly to that and rushed for a cutlass to kill her mother, who managed to escape. He said Kwarteng was consequently arrested and handed over to the Police.
