Court bonds 52-year-old man for attempting suicide

Sekondi Dec 24, GNA- A Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court, on Thursday bonded Alex Sampson, a 52- year- old man who attempted to take his life, to be of good behaviour for 24 months.

The accused who pleaded guilty to attempted murder, would serve six months imprisonment in hard labour in default.

Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Andam Okyere said the accused is married to one Doris Sampson for many years without producing children. Doris, who had threatened to divorce Sampson after picking a quarrel with him, packed out from her matrimonial home and went to live with her parents.

Sergeant Okyere said on December 15 this year, the accused drank a substance and was rushed to hospital unconscious. He was later handed over to the Police and remanded into prison custody.
