Accra, Feb. 15 GNA – An Accra Fast Track High Court hearing the case involving Thomas Osei, the man at the centre of the President’s car accident
on Friday had to adjourn the case to February 22, this year following power outage at the courts. The blackout also affected the other courts and as such brought most activities in the area to a halt as the courts do not have a standby generator to fall on.
In addition, the 28th February Road Court popularly known as the ‘Cocoa Affairs’ for the past five months have had its lighting system also broken down affecting the work of judges and staff of the judicial service.
Thomas Osei 51, a businessman has been charged with five counts of motor traffic offences, use of narcotic drugs and failing to change ownership of the vehicle.
The charges include dangerous driving, negligently causing harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give way to Presidential siren and the use of narcotic drugs. The President escaped unhurt. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against him.
