Court awards GH¢80 cost against NPP executives

Apam (C/R), June 19, GNA – The Apam District Magistrate court presided over by Mr Charles Wiafe, on Wednesday awarded GH¢80 cost against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Central Regional executives and the Gomoa West constituency executives of the party, for failing to appear before it.

Three polling station chairmen of the party, Mr Benjamin Nebrah Tawiah from Apam, Mr Isaac Eduful from Gomoa Kyiren and Mr Enoch Sey from Gomoa Assin, took the executives to court at Apam for declaring the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Joe Hackman as the NPP candidate for the Gomoa Constituency by a popular acclamation.

The Regional and Constituency executives together with their counsel, failed to appear in court on Wednesday, June 18 2008. Mr. Wiafe, therefore, awarded the cost and adjourned the case to July 2 2008.
