A Tarkwa circuit court on Thursday adjourned the case of assault and causing damage to Mamudu Jaloo by three New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Prestea Huni/Valley constituency.

The three, Abiam Kuntu Danso, Kojo Appiah Takyi and Bismark Opoku, who are been on bail in the sum of Gh¢9,000 with one surety each will re-appear before the court on May 17.

Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah had told the court that, the complainant is a small scale miner in Huni/Valley while the first, second and third accused claimed to be part of the NPP’s monitoring team in the just ended biometric registration exercise in the Prestea Huni/Valley District.

He said on April 11, the accused persons went to the Anglican Junior High School in Fanti New Town at Huni/Valley registration center and met the complainant in a queue who was waiting to be registered.

He said the accused persons on seeing the complainant pulled and heckled him out of the queue and in the process the first accused person collected his old voter identity card and tore it in front of him.

Inspector Amponsah said a report was made to the police and the accused were arrested.**
