Couple donates to Mampong Babies Home

Mampong (Ash), Dec 2, GNA – A United Kingdom-based Ghanaian couple on Thursday donated assorted items valued at more than GH¢500.00 to the Asante-Mampong Babies Home.

The items included bed sheets, used clothing, toys and exercises boo= ks. Nana Kwame Baafi Boateng and Mrs Georgina Boateng said it was their contribution towards making conditions at the Home more friendly and comfortable for the children.

They said they were confident that other individuals, groups and organizations would be motivated by their donation to also contribute to the upkeep of the orphans. The Right Rev Dr Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, the Anglican Diocesan Bishop of th= e Kumasi, commended the couple for the gift.

Ms Mabel Asafu-Adjei, Superintendent of the Home who received the items,=

said they were faced with many challenges and mentioned among these as inadequate rooms, rising feeding cost and lack of vehicles. She therefore appealed for more public support. The Home now has 37 children.
