Council donates items to schools

Techiman, July 19, GNA – The Techiman Zonal Council has distributed 100 bags of cement and six packets of roofing sheets worth nine million cedis to eight schools under its jurisdiction.

The beneficiary schools include Ahmadiyya Primary, Kenten Local Authority and Asantanso Local Authority Primary schools, which received two packets of roofing sheets each, while Takofiano Seventh Day Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary, Baptist Local Authority Primary, Forikrom Methodist Primary, Akrufi Local Authority Primary, and Techiman Community Day-Care Centre had 20 bags of cement each.

Mr. Davis Boamah-Asumadu, Chairman of the Council, who is also the Executive Director of Ahenbronoso Care International, an NGO, appealed to the beneficiary communities to encourage people to live up to their responsibilities and pay their taxes regularly to enable the council to undertake more development projects.

He appealed to the people “not to politicise the payment of taxes, saying eligible citizens should rather be encouraged to exercise their franchise in the December elections.
