Corruption under Mahama is worse than prostitution – Awuku

Sammy Awuku, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says the corruption under the Mahama administration is far worse than “prostitution” in the country.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, Sammy Awuku bemoaned the actions and inactions of the current administration that has led to major corrupt practices such as the infamous GYEEDA saga.

Parliament on Wednesday postponed deliberations on the Youth Employment Bill which seeks to give legal backing to the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA); due to the low turnout of the Parliamentarians.

GYEEDA has over the years been smeared with corruption, leading to the indictment of some top officials.

Addressing the issue, Sammy Awuku held strongly that the actions of the government depict that it is not committed to fighting against corruption in the country.

According to him, corruption under this current administration is on “high speed” and so, believed “2016 (general elections) will be an election between the people’s power and stolen money.”
