‘Corruption destroying Ghana’s gains; Akufo Addo appoint corruption minister’- NPP Chairman

New Patriotic Party Chairman for Kwabere East Constituency, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah has identified corruption as a major setback to Ghana’s socio-economic gains since the attainment of independence.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah noted corruption has penetrated every aspect of the Ghanaian society.

He is therefore suggesting president Akufo Addo should appoint a minister responsible for fighting corruption and malfeasance.

The NPP Chairman stated emphatically that politicians, religious leaders and other persons occupying positions of authority had become very addicted to corrupt practices for their individual benefits to the expense of the advancement of the country.

Speaking to host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah, the Chairman said “on a daily basis, huge sums of money which could have otherwise been used to promote national development are being siphoned by corrupt government officials who parade the streets with impunity.”

“We find ourselves in a situation today having had to deal with corruption .”
