Cops grab quack doctor, fraudster

The police have arrested one Faith Mensah Tekpor, a serial confident trickster who poses as a Medical Doctor with several names to defraud his mainly female victims.

A statement issued and signed by Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Sheila Kessie Abayie-Buckman, on Friday, 10 August, said Tekpor used different names such as “Dr Jeff Alvin Addow”, “Dr Alvin Owusu”, “Dr Alvin Annan”, “Dr Fiifi Owusu”, “Dr Collins Amoah” and “Dr Alvin Mensah”, to defraud people.

The statement said the multiple-name fraudster “normally operated within Accra, Sakumono and Tema.”

The police added that: “Faith Mensah is presently facing trial for defrauding by impersonating and also under investigation for similar fraud offences.”

Until his arrest, the police said the “suspect had jumped court bail and was listed as a wanted person” following the issue of a bench warrant.”
