COP Rose Bio-Atinga retires

The Director General in charge of Technical at the Police Headquarters, Commissioner of Police (COP) Rose Bio-Atinga, has retired after 29 years of police work.

COP Bio-Atinga who was among those tipped to become the Inspector General of Police in 2012, started her retirement on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

She joined the Ghana Police in 1988 as an officer and rose through the ranks to become the fourth female Commissioner of Police in Ghana having served in various capacities within the Service across the country.

Sources close to Ms Bio-Atinga told 3News she intends to use her retirement period to write a book about her service in the Police among others. She had her GCE O-Level Certificate (1969–74) at St Francis Secondary School and A-Level (1974–76) at St. Monica’s Secondary School.

COP earned a degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the School of Administration, University of Ghana. In 1985, Ms Bio-Atinga obtained a Post-graduate Certificate in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
