Convicted Aggudey taken ill after sentencing

The Ghana Prisons Service says the convicted former presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. George Aggudey, has taken ill.

The Gocrest Security Chief Executive Officer, according to sources, took ill shortly after he was sentenced to a three-month jail term on Saturday.

He is reported to be receiving medical treatment at the Police Hospital in the national capital, Accra.

Mr. Aggudey will start serving his sentence once the court has issued a warrant to the Prisons Service to that effect. . The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Aiyeh Vitalis, told XYZ NEWS that no warrant has yet been issued by the court for Mr. Aggudey’s imprisonment.

The businessman-turned-politician was hauled before the court for failing to pay GHS2, 635,161.90 of social security contributions for his staff.
