Convict appears before court for possessing wee

Sekondi March.10, GNA- Joseph Kwabena Koka, a 27-year old prisoner at the Sekondi Central Prison, was on Thursday appeared before a Sekondi Magistrate’s Court for allegedly possessing Indian hemp. The accused whose plea was not taken is to re-appear on March 31. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor said the accused who is serving a four-year imprisonment in hard labour at the Sekondi Prisons was spotted by the prison authorities in possession of a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Chief Inspector Hedidor said the accused was handed over to the Police and during interrogation, he admitted the offence.

Koka confessed that he bought the Indian hemp from an unknown dealer while carrying out physical labour work outside the prison yard.
