Contractor abandons electricity project

Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), June 21, GNA – The people of Adaklu Kodzobi in the Adaklu Anyigbe District have appealed to the government to prevail on the contractor who had abandoned work on the town’s electrification project to resume work.

Mr John Nyatsikor, the Unit Committee Chairman, told the GNA in an interview that the contractor started work on the project last November but left in February.

He said 90 per cent of houses in the community were wired in anticipation of the completion of the project and that a computer donated to the community school was not being used because of lack of electricity.

Mr Nyatsikor expressed regret that Adaklu Kodzobi, which was just a stone throw from the regional capital, Ho, was without electricity and said it was affecting the development of the community. He was grateful to the Adaklu Anyigbe District Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mrs Joycelyn Juliana Azumah-Mensah, for donating 10 and two low-tension electricity poles respectively to the community for the project.
