Contactors asked to do quality work

Kukuom (B/A), July 12, GNA – Mr Fleance Danso, the Asunafo South District Chief Executive (DCE), on Friday advised contractors undertaking projects in the district to ensure that quality work was done.

He warned that the District Assembly would not hesitate to terminate the work contract with any contractor who undertook shoddy work. Mr Danso gave the warning during an inspection of a number of deplorable roads in the district.

The DCE expressed the observation that due to the deplorable nature of the roads, economic activities in the area had come to a halt, adding that foodstuffs had locked up and were getting rotten on the farms. Mr Danso stressed that the rehabilitation of the roads would facilitate the evacuation of cocoa and other foodstuffs to marketing centres.

He said the government had put in place measures to construct all major roads in the cocoa producing areas in the district. Mr Danso assured the people that roads which were not covered in some parts of Kukuom in the old contract would be soon awarded for tarring. 12 July 10
