Construction of Polyclinic for Koforidua Municipality to start next year

Koforidua, Oct. 3, GNA- The New Juaben Municipal Assembly, supported by the Ministry of Health is to construct a two-storey building for the Koforidua Municipal Polyclinic next year. The New Juaben Municipal Director of Health Service, Dr Benjamin Marfo, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Koforidua on Monday.

He said the project, which is to be located within the premises of the Municipal Health Directorate, was expected to help reduce the pressure on the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Dr Marfo explained that, since the Polyclinic would not have major wards, it was being sited close to the Koforidua Regional Hospital to enable referred patients to the Regional Hospital have easy access to it for specialist attention.

He said the Polyclinic, which would operate a 24-hour service, would offer clinical, preventive and maternal services.
