Constituency endorses sitting MP

Golokwati, (V/R) April 10, GNA- A total of 155 delegates of Hohoe South Constituency of the NDC on Wednesday endorsed by popular acclamation Mr. Joseph Zaphanet Amenowode MP for the constituency as the party’s candidate for the 2008 parliamentary elections. Mr. Amenowode was the sole candidate at the primary. He thanked the delegates for retaining him and pledged to work harder to justify their confidence in him. Mr. Amenowode said his target was to improve the 89% record of votes in the 2004 election and hoped the party’s supporters would help him achieve the target. He said campaign teams would be inaugurated at the ward and constituency levels to embark on house-to-house campaign for a resounding victory.

Mr. Kwasi Aboagye, first Volta Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC attributed the difficult economic situation in the country to visionless government policies. He urged party supporters to vote massively in the December elections to return the party to power. In a similar development, Miss Akua Sena Dansua MP for North Dayi has also won the constituency’s primaries to contest the December elections. Officials of the Hohoe District Directorate of the Electoral Commission supervised the constituency conference.
