Conflict breaks out in Bunkpurugu of N/R

There are reports of a clash between the Kombatiak and Bankoni Communities in the Bunkpurugu Yoyoo District of the Northern region.

Speaking to Radio Ghana the Tamale Police Commander DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni said the conflict this morning was over a piece of land which allegedly has been encroached upon by the people of Kombatiak.

He said some houses have been burnt and two persons killed as result of the conflict.

The MP for Bunkrugu Yunyoo, Jude Emmanuel Kwame has appealed for calm to be restored.
