Koforidua, April 24, GNA – Y&K Investments limited, a distributor of Unilever products in the Koforidua Municipality, has presented items worth 5, 000 Ghana Cedis for distribution to the staff of the Koforidua Regional Hospital. The items included rice, milk, Milo and fruit juice. Presenting the items Mrs Mary Okyere, Financial Director of the Company, said the company had been supporting the Akropong School for the Blind annually but this year decided to shift its support to the staff of the Koforidua Regional Hospital. She said reasons for donating the items were to demonstrate the appreciation of the company to the staff of the hospital for their service to the community.

Mrs Okyere said the presentation was to tell the hospital staff that while they were doing their normal work, there were some eyes watching them from afar, they would continue to watch them and would reward them appropriately when they least expect it. She said the company had decided to adopt one of the wards of the hospital as their contribution to the rendering of service to the community.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Kwasi Adjei-Boateng, enumerated a number of projects that the company was sponsoring in the Municipality and urged other private enterprises to emulate it. He said the municipal assembly had decided to support the company in its sponsorship of the annual street jam on every 24th December night in the Koforidua Municipality. The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Obeng Apori, expressed his appreciation for the donation and said that was the first time he had seen a company coming to present items to medical staff and not as usual to the sick or the institution. He urged the staff of the hospital to offer their service to clients of the hospital with a smile.
