Company donates to Aboakyer festival

Winneba (C/R), May 1, GNA – The Management of Kasapreko, manufacturers of Kasapreko Gin on Friday presented cash and assorted drinks worth one million cedis to the Effutu Traditional Council towards the celebration of the Aboakyer festival.

Mr. Andrew Akolas, who made the presentation on behalf of the company, said the company would provide the “Ayekoo Nsa” valued at one million cedis to the various Asafo companies after the festival. The festival, which started on April 30, will end on May 8. The Aboakyer Day when the two Asafo companies will go to the bush to capture a live dear and bring it to the durbar ground would be May 7. The first animal to be brought to the ground is used to perform customary rites.

The Omanhene of the traditional area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, received the items and thanked the company for its kind gesture and urged others to emulation the shinning example. He said for the first time in the history of the celebration of the festival, the first Asafo Company to bring a catch to the durbar grounds would be given an award of 500.000.00 cedis and the second 300,000.00 cedis.
