Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), Sept. 23, GNA – The Management of Jeopardise Trading Enterprise at Dormaa Ahenkro has awarded 25 million cedis in scholarships to 24 needy and brilliant students from the Dormaa District currently in second cycle and tertiary institutions.

The students received between 600,000 and three million cedis each, Mr George Padmore Yaw Kumi, Managing Director of the company, said at the presentation of the awards to some of the beneficiaries at Dormaa Ahenkro.

“As a citizen of the district it is my objective to contribute meaningfully to its development,” he said, adding that the scheme, instituted last year, had so far benefited 18 students who have received 18.7 million cedis.

Mr Kumi pledged to give each student an additional 200,000 cedis to cover expenses on textbooks, extra classes and other miscellaneous expenses.

Madam Margaret Akoto, a revenue collector and parent of one of the beneficiaries, thanked the company for the assistance.
