Commuters stranded on Tema Motorway as accident blocks Tema-Accra stretch

Traffic flow has come to a standstill on the Tema-Accra stretch of the Tema Motorway following a Thursday morning accident that has left the road blocked.

Emergency services including the Ambulance Service and the Police have arrived at the scene near the tollbooth to evacuate the victims. It is unclear whether there are casaulties in the accident which is said to involve a waste management truck, 3News gathered.

Commuters, mostly workers who are travelling to Accra and other parts of the country are left stranded in their vehicles as efforts are being made to clear the road.

The 19-kilometre motorway links Tema to Accra and it is a major Trans West African Highway which records heavy vehicular traffic daily.
