Community raises 8.7 million cedis to support projects

Bebu (Ash), July 8, GNA – The chiefs and people of Bebu in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District have raised 8.7 million cedis to support development projects the government has approved for the town. These include two boreholes, a classroom block and toilet facilities.

The community is required to pay 10 million cedis representing five per cent of the cost of the projects under the Social Investment Fund (SIF).

Addressing a fund-raising durbar Mr Yaw Yeboah, Unit Committee Chairman, said the projects were important for the town and they would ensure that they were completed on schedule.

Nana Sakyiwaah Tatuo, the Queenmother, called for unity, mutual co-operation and understanding among the people.

She reminded them that there could not be any meaningful progress in an environment where there was division, suspicion and mistrust.
