Community Library For Akokerri

Fomena-Ashanti — Akokerri in the Adansi West district has been selected to benefit from a community library project under the HIPC funds.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Fomena, Hon. Alarasi Afrifa, said the first installment of ?500 million of the funds had already been released.

According to the MP, two other library projects have been slated for Fomena and Dompoase.

They will be funded under the MPs’ Common Fund.

The Fomena project is at the roofing level, while foundation for the Dompoase project is yet to be laid.

Chronicle also gathered that two additional classrooms and a teacher’s common room have been provided under the rehabilitation of Buabeng JSS at Dompoase with funds from the MPs’ Common Fund.

Meanwhile, five communities in the constituency have been connected to the national electricity grid.

They are, Medoma, Ahinsan, Adomenu, Abedwam and Akyiase.

Afrifa also disclosed that telephone facilities had been extended to New Ayaase, Dompoase and Fomena.
