COMMUNITY CENTRE LIBRARY COMPLEX FOR AGONA

A sod-cutting ceremony to mark the construction of a ?250 million community centre and a library complex has been held at Agona Nsaba in the Central Region. The project is being financed by the citizens through development levy of two thousand cedis per male and one thousand cedis per female. The Central Regional Minister, Mr., Kojo Yankah, cut the sod. He was assisted by the Queenmother of the town, Nana Ama Yeboa. The occasion also formed part of activities marking their annual Akwambo Festival. In an address, Mr.. Yankah commended the citizens of Nsaba for initiating self-help projects and urged them to keep it up. He urged them to complete all on-going projects on schedule in order to raise their standard of living. The Chairman of the Projects Committee, Mr.. Kwabena Owusu-Aduamoah, said the Agona Nsaba Citizens Association in the Greater Accra Region has mobilised five million cedis for projects in the area and appealed to other citizens to emulate the example. The Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area, Nana Afari Minta, who presided over the function, called on the citizens to contribute their quota towards the completion of the projects. End
