Community calls for re-award of contract

Coaltar (E/R), Oct. 18, GNA – An appeal has been made to the Government to award road contract on Adoagyiri-Owuram road to another contractor.

Nana Kwabena Koranteng, the Regent of Krabokese, made the appeal at the durbar of chiefs and people of Ayesuano constituency in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar district to welcome Mr. Emmanuel Darteh, the NPP constituency Chairman for his second term in the constituency. Briefing the newsmen after the durbar, the constituency chairman said the contract was awarded to Owusu Construction Company based in Suhum in the Eastern Region four years ago but only two kilometres had been gravelled.

He said the community transports their cocoa and food crops via the 27-kilometre road to the urban centres. Mr. Darteh asked the people to support the government in its development and pay their dues on National Health Insurance Scheme to cater for their future health, adding that now that the government have made free education possible, parents should send their children to school.
