Community builds police station

Buoyem (B/A) Nov. 9, GNA – The chiefs and people of Buoyem in Techiman municipality of Brong Ahafo have built a police station at the cost of 400 million cedis.

The people contributed voluntarily and offered communal labour, Nana Okomafo Dwamena Akenten IV, the Chief of Buoyem, said this at a durbar to climax the celebration of the “Nwomafie Kese Yam festival” of the chiefs and people of the area.

He appealed to the government and voluntary organisations to help provide furniture and a decent place of convenience at the station. On education, Nana Okomafo Dwamena Akenten, appealed to the people to attach importance to girl-child education so as to help empower women in the area.

He called on the people to patronise the national health insurance scheme so that they could have access to quality medical care. The chief appealed to Techiman Municipal Assembly to create a separate area council for the town. He said Buoyem has a number of communities including Akonkonti, Tenabia, Brompia, Adutwie, Mangoase, Kyerediagya and the creation of the council would speed up development.
