Community appeals for help to complete police project

Atobiase (Ash), July 11, GNA- The chiefs and people of Atobiase in the Adansi East District of Ashanti have appealed to the Ministry of Interior and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to assist them complete the construction of a block to house policemen at the town. They said the project, which has reached the lintel level, was at a standstill due to lack of funds.

Mr Isaac Sarkodie and Mr Akwasi Sarfo, Assembly Members for the town, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the landlord of the building, which the police are occupying since 1983 had served them with a six-month ejection notice.

They said it has become necessary, therefore, for the community to complete the project in time.
